Description

The Accelerator Down Jacket is an ultra-lightweight, high performing down jacket designed for versatile warmth in cold-weather. It's going to be your new go-to choice when temps drop. The Pertex® Quantum ripstop nylon shell keeps the wind out and holds 4oz of RDS certified 850 fill-power HyperDry™ Down for lightweight windproof warmth in dry conditions. DWR coating and water expanding thread act as the first defense against precipitation, while the HyperDry™ Down prevents internal moisture buildup. Synthetic Insulation Mapping in high moisture areas keeps you warm while you are working hard. An ergonomic articulated fit reduces weight and volume, making it warmer and even more enticing to throw in your pack for a ‘just in case’ moment. Hem and hood drawcords prevent any chance of updraft - keeping you incredibly toasty.

It’s athletic fit is designed to fit perfectly over a base layer (and potentially a whisper thin mid layer). This takes advantage of down’s insulating properties by reducing dead space between your body and the down. If you are looking to layer more than this underneath, we recommend sizing up.

Excellent Jacket

I got this jacket as a warm, lightweight stand alone and it lives up to those expectations. The really exceptional part is how little it weighs. Hardly notice when you have it on and it compresses to a small form factor when it’s being packed. I also appreciate its wind stopping power and the high fitting collar. It’s now my everyday driver.

I’ve worn it a few times as the outer layer, but it really worked well under the Himali parka during extended time when the temperature has been in the teens with the wind ripping. The overall weight of the system is hard to beat.

I bought the trailblazer blue in large. At 6,2/ 175lbs it fits great, particularly in the arms (mine are long). The colors are true to the picture on the website. It’s certainly not cheap but it’s worth the money if weight and warmth matter most.

Great look and feel!

did a lot of research comparing options from RAB, Mountain Hardware, and the Himali best met what I was looking for... lightweight & travel friendly yet still quite warm; better durability for weight than other brands for wearing in town and great outdoors; internal pocket you rarely find; adjustable hood; better light water protection than similar brands; in pocket stuff bag for convenience and quite portable (think larger fat water bottle), great zippers that another reviewer mentioned; down composites for more active areas and best of all, looks great! 6'2", 195, XL gives me plenty of room for layering as website showed this product tends to be more snug fitting than my typical L. All at a much lower price point, especially with cyber monday discount!

Great Jacket...Tight on the Shoulders

This is a great jacket that I've used as a daily jacket in the Northeast winter days, Skiing in the Central Sierra and also climbing Rainier, Shasta, Adams, etc. Did very well on all of them. One thing that isn't great on this jacket is the fit. The arm holes get very tight on the shoulders if you wear anything somewhat thick underneath. I got a Large, which is typically what I wear, and it fits fine if I don't wear anything thick underneath. If you plan to layer underneath this jacket I would size up by one size.
