CARE INSTRUCTIONS
- Down Jackets
- Hardshell Jackets
- Softshell Jackets
- Synthetic Fill Jackets
- Tee Shirts
This is one of the most technically advanced pieces of gear you've ever owned. Why not take care of it?
Washing Recommendations:
- Use a front loading washing machine when possible
- Zip all zippers
- Machine wash cold
- Use a specific down wash like Nikwax Down Wash Direct® to extend the hyperdry coating and to prevent down clumping
- Periodically use a specific DWR reapplication such as SoftShell Proof™ (Approximately every 3 to 5 washes)
- Rinse very thoroughly after washing
- Do not use fabric softeners
- Do not iron
- Do not bleach
- Do not dry clean
Drying Recommendations:
- Tumble dry on low with 2 or 3 tennis balls to maintain the down's loft
- Do not air dry (the down may dry in clumps)
- Check on your jacket periodically during the drying process to massage out any large down clumps by hand
- Do not store wet
- TIP: Even if the jacket seems fully dry, small amounts of internal moisture can lead to down clumping. It may take several drying cycles to fully dry your down jacket. When in doubt, put it in for another drying cycle.
Hardshells go through arguably some of the harshest conditions. They are also prone to picking up oils and other debris that are shaken from foliage during storms.
