Description

The Altitude Down Parka is a heavy-hitting mid-to-outer layer designed to keep you warm during passive activities in extreme cold. This parka is at home on an ice climbing belay, backcountry bivy, or on mountaineering expeditions ranging from Rainier and Aconcagua to Himalayan peaks.

A Pertex® Quantum ripstop nylon shell holds roughly 8 oz. of RDS-certified 850 fill-power HyperDry™ Down for ultimate warmth in a lightweight package. The bulk of its weight comes from the down insulation, making it extremely light for the amount of warmth it provides.

A PFAS-free water-resistant coating is applied to both the fabric and the down, protecting from internal and external moisture buildup.
The helmet-compatible hood features a wide baffle that acts as a wind guard.
Integrated cinches at the wrists, hood, and bottom hem work to keep the wind out and the warmth in.

The back hem is dropped to cover your behind and insulate your core, while the front hem is kept at hip length to maximize mobility.

The zippered external hand pockets are spacious to fit large items (gloves, climbing skins, etc) and fleece-lined for extra insulation and comfort.

An internal mesh drop pocket provides the perfect spot to keep a water bottle warm or to dry out wet items like gloves.

The 2-way YKK center zipper makes this the ultimate belay puffy.

Serious Cold Weather Gear

This is a seriously warm and well constructed parka. I’ve been wearing it with a light layer underneath in 10-20 degree Fahrenheit weather and it is enough to keep me warm.

Really like how light it is, the full zip up front to protect my neck and face, and the deep pockets.

I ordered the one in blue. I like the color, but I find it looks lighter in real life [vice the picture on the website].
